art battle for orlando

Local artists are preparing to go all out for the first art battle of 2016.

Tonight’s event – Art Battle 4 Orlando – is for a cause! Proceeds raised from the event (and from an art auction on July 8 at Venue) will go toward survivors of the Pulse shooting in Orlando. The Art Battle begins tonight at 8PM on the 5th floor of the Downtown Parking Garage.

Teams can sign up in advance. In exchange for a $20 entry fee, artists (or teams of artists) will get a large piece of plywood in a size and shape unknown until the night of the competition. Before the battle, artists will draw a number to pick their plywood canvas. Artists must bring any and all supplies for use in their piece. The only limitation is the time limit; artists will have 3.5 hours to paint. At 11:30PM, the crowd will cast their votes for their favorite piece. The art with the most votes wins. This year’s prize is $300 cash.

The winning piece will be auctioned off on July 2 at Venue will all proceeds going to the Pulse survivors.

There will be a $5 entry free which will go toward Orlando survivors. There will also be $5 event parking at the Downtown Parking Garage. Any attendees who park in the garage can bring their  parking ticket and receive free entry to the event.

The evening will also include live music by Kittiwake, Dara Rilatos, DJ Pika, and DJ RARA AVIS.

If you are interested in attending, please be sure to RSVP.
