Downtown Fairbanks will host the 38th Midnight Sun Festival celebration on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 from noon – midnight. This annual event is held on the Sunday closest to the summer solstice and sees more than 30,000 people pack downtown for twelve hours of fun under the midnight sun!
This event would not be what it is without the loyal vendors who line the streets of downtown to bring you the best of what Alaska has to offer. Food trucks from across the state come out to supply the masses with sweet treats, ethnic cuisine, snacks and drinks for the whole family. Shoppers can find treasures to purchase with endless amounts of Made in Alaska items, jewelry, art, pottery, clothing and a variety of home goods. Activities are sprinkled around the event with a gold panning booth, pony rides, car smash, skate park and even a midway on 4th Avenue.
If the vendors weren’t enough, over 40 live performance acts will make an appearance on one of 4 event stages hosted by the Festival. Dancing, comedy, aerial silks, big band sound, orchestras, steel drums, jazz, folk and rock and roll will be found all around the event. Performance groups change every 15 minutes, creating endless amounts of entertainment.
