HISTORY IN THE MAKING At 11am, Feb. 9, the 2008 race started on the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska despite the bite of -50F temperatures! 10 days, 12 hours, and 14 minutes later, Lance Mackey and his 14 brave huskeys MUSHED 1,000 MILES OF ARCTIC WILDERNESS ALONE to cross the finish line in Whitehorse, YT, winning their 4th consecutive Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race.

guessing games, the Treasure Quest and, of course lots of dogs, the kids
will have plenty to drag their parents to throughout the day.
Yukon Quest History - Legends of the Yukon Quest
As part of all the excitement int this week long celebration, come to the
free reception at the Fairbanks Community Museum and meet the people
who first started the Yukon Quest and created this international event.
Learn the history of the Yukon Quest and learn about sled dog history as
you look at the special exhibition at the Fairbanks Community Museum
located downtown on the corner of Cushman and 5th Avenue.
