Film Screening- Dawson City Frozen Time

February 3, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

This year the Yukon Quest starts right outside the Morris Thompson Center. Join us on Saturday February 3rd for a variety of films celebrating the 1000 mile international sled dog race. We will screen the critically acclaimed film “Dawson City Frozen Time” with an intro by local historian Ron Inouye courtesy of the Tanana Yukon Historical Society and UAF.

The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race gets its name from the “highway of the north,” which is the Yukon River and the historical winter land routes travelled by prospectors, adventurers and mail and supply carriers traveling between the gold fields of the Klondike and those in the Alaska interior.

We’ll screen films that celebrate the historical and natural resources that make this race
unique. The schedule is as follows:
• 11am: “Gravel to Gold- The Coal Creek Story”
• 12 noon: “Yukon Quest 1000 Miles Sled Dog Race: A Dogumentary”
• 1:30 p.m.: “Dawson City Frozen Time” with intro by Ron Inouye

We hope to see you on Saturday February 3rd at in the Morris Thompson Center located downtown on Dunkel Street.
