First Friday – Betsy Bear

June 2, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Our featured artist this month is Betsy Bear. Betsy has always loved watercolor, and started her second career as an artist after retiring from 25 years of teaching in 2001. She finds that art generates a positive energy in her life which keeps her creative and appreciating the beauty that surrounds her.

Painting on topographic maps is a bit of a challenge but worth the effort, and the final artwork is something to be admired. Many map place names and topographical features are visible through the paint if you look closely, giving the final piece a second layer of beauty.

Enjoy light refreshments from 5 – 8 p.m. as you browse through the artwork.
