- What We Do
- Midnight Sun Festival
Those who love Alaskan art, and enjoy a good party, will have a special treat at Raven Landing Center on Dec. 3, at 7:00 pm.
Former and current residents have donated a large number of vintage, quality Eskimo art work, and many fine older pieces of graphic art by Alaskans. These will be auctioned off at the “Alaskans’ Art Under the Northern Lights” event that evening.
There will also be music and entertainment, plus Chef Slava’s amazing hors d’oeuvres and assorted beverages.
The evening will end with the first lighting of the new, permanent outdoor Christmas tree – a magnificent spruce near the corner of Airport and Cowles streets – which was a pet project of the late Perri Carlson and will be a memorial to her.
There is no admission charge, but donations will be gratefully accepted. The event is part of “Crossing the Finish Line,” a campaign to help pay for the final Raven Landing residential building now under construction just south of Raven Landing Center.
