It’s that time of year again! The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center is now accepting applications for the First Friday Holiday Art Bazaar on Friday December 2nd 5 – 8pm and Saturday December 3rd 10am – 4pm.
What makes the Holiday Art bazaar special? The event is a hybrid of a traditional bazaar and a First Friday and gives the artist the ability to have the intimate setting of a First Friday, while taking advantage of the selling power of a bazaar.
Applications will be accepted from September 1st through October 7th. Artwork will be selected by a committee based on the criteria of art pertaining to Alaska, its land, people or history and or artwork that is derived from Alaskan materials. Artists will be notified within a week of the final submission date if they have or have not been chosen to participate in the Holiday Art Bazaar.
Previous year’s events have included knitted and hand-sewn apparel, beaded and silver jewelry, Alaska Native crafts, paintings and prints, photography, pottery, sculptures and carvings.
Applications can be emailed to Fair_Interpretation@nps.gov or mailed to:
