Colleen Firmin Thomas grew up in Fort Yukon and Fairbanks, Alaska. In her mixed media paintings she uses familiar materials such as beads, paper, porcupine quills, thread, and fabric in unconventional ways to better understand her individual and cultural identities, as well as how the two inform her view of the world. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She lives in Fairbanks with her husband and two children.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. Link and Thomas’ works will be on view from August 4-26.
