“Dave Totten’s Alaskan Birds”

Wildlife artist, David Totten, creates portraits of Alaska’s birds that are rich in contrast and uniquely realistic in content.  His works have a 3-dimensional vitality which invites viewers to join him in his love of nature.

Totten has been an engineer, consulting geologist, college professor, and breeder of Siberian Huskies.  In 1991 he returned to his life-long love of painting to become a full-time artist.

Totten’s pastel paintings of wildlife have been awarded many prestigious honors. His work has been accepted numerous times for the competitive “Art Show at the Dog Show”.  He was selected to paint the official prints of the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race.  In 2000 he was invited to attend “Reflections of Nature” wildlife art show in Fallbrook, California.  He was chosen as the Alaska Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year for 2001-2002.  His print “Team Leaders” was chosen for the February 2008 Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Totten used to be represented by New Horizon.  Being the featured artist at Co-Op Arts Learning Center, and having ongoing representation through Gallery 49, is his return to Fairbanks.  Please join Dave Totten for an artist reception during First Friday, April 6th, 2012, from 5pm to 8pm.
