Doyon shareholder meeting
This Friday, March 17, from 8am-4pm, Doyon Limited will host their annual shareholder meeting. This event is open to all Doyon shareholders and will be held inside the Westmark Hotel downtown. Shareholders will be able to shop amongst local arts and crafts vendors and receive the 2016 Doyon update from board members and staff. Attendees can also register to vote. St. Patrick’s Day for Kids
From 10am-5pm this Friday, the Fairbanks Children’s Museum is hosting St. Patrick’s Day for Kids. Children will enjoy green activities, pot-of-gold sensory play, and leprechaun crafts at the museum. This event is free with admission to the museum. General admission is $8 per person, $7 for military families and $3 with an EBT card. Service dog demonstrations
On Saturday, March 18, Paws for Purple Hearts Alaska will host a service dogs-in-training demonstration at the Fairbanks Children’s Museum. The service dogs and their veteran handlers will be on hand or rather…on paw…from 10am-Noon at the kids museum. Tea party
On Saturday, March 18, the Westmark Hotel will be the venue for the Alaska Mother Daughter Tea Party. The event will bring together mothers and daughters for a rewarding afternoon of tea, games and prizes. Attendees are encouraged to “dress to impress” in their best tea fashion. Big hats? Huge parasols? Frilly dresses? Yes, yes and yes. Tickets are $75 per a mother and daughter pair and each additional daughter is $25. Finger foods, drinks and sweet treats will be available during the party. A photographer will also be available to take pictures of you and your daughter (or daughters) as a delightful reminder of your beautiful afternoon. Fisheries conference
On March 19 through the 23rd, the Alaska chapter of The American Fisheries Society and the American Water Resources Association will come together to co-host the 2017 annual chapter meeting in Fairbanks at the Westmark Hotel. The meeting integrates the fields of fisheries and hydrology from the perspectives of industry and agency insiders, as well as stakeholders. This year’s theme is “Alaskan Fisheries and Waters: Success, limitation and innovation in the face of data scarcity and uncertainty.” For more information, look for the event on Facebook. —> RSVP <—
