EARTH AND GLASS: Alaskan-Inspired Painting and Alaska Native Beadwork
Amy Reisland-Speer was raised in the Athabascan subsistence life style in Tanana, and spent summers in Denali National Park. Her acrylic, oil, and egg tempera paintings reflect the beauty of landscapes, flowers, and wildlife that surround her daily.
Denise Hardesty was born in Fairbanks and raised by a very large family in a subsistence lifestyle of hunting and putting up food. Sewing, beading, quill and fur work has become a way of life for Denise. She has taught sewing in workshops all over the state, and currently works at Beads and Things in downtown Fairbanks.
