Jovencio de la Paz is an artist and educator living and working in Eugene, Oregon. His work, located in the fluctuating territory of textile, painting and installation, utilizes craft processes in cloth to engage a queer aesthetic vernacular. Born in Singapore in 1986, Jovencio de la paz received a BFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008, and an MFA in Fibers from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2012; Jovencio de la Paz is currently Assistant Professor and Head of Fibers at the University of Oregon, Department of Art, School of Architecture & Allied Arts.
