First Friday Artist Reception: Barbara Gabel

Our featured artist this month is acrylic and oil painter Barbara Gabel. Barbara first came to Alaska in the early 70’s, and found her home. Never had she seen such a beautiful country. There is a perfect scene for painting wherever you go. She couldn’t get enough of being here, exploring every inch of the state, returning to the same place at different seasons, rain or shine. Barbara’s hope is to stir a conversation or spark a feeling of adventure in people as they view her art.
