First Friday Speaker Event

What are the newest happenings around your local state and national parks? Find out at our First Friday speaker event on Friday, March 6th, 5-7 p.m. at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center. Representatives from Denali National Park, the Folk School Fairbanks, and the Department of Natural Resources’ Land Sales Division will give presentations about opportunities for recreation and adventure and give updates about the latest news in their area. There will be time for questions, so come prepared to ask away.

Schedule:
5:00-5:30 – Meet and Greet with representatives from Denali National Park, Alaska Land Sales, and the Folk School. Light refreshments provided by Explore Fairbanks.
5:30-6:00 – Department of Natural Resources’ Land Sales Division – Learn how you can own a piece of Alaska! DNR’s Land Sales conduct auctions and over-the-counter sales for choice parcels of land in the state, along with offering Remote Recreational Cabin sites.
6:00-6:30 – Folk School Fairbanks – Hear about the Folk School’s newest project, a public use cabin! They will also share information about year-round classes and programs for all ages in traditional crafts, woodworking, outdoor skills, and hands-on arts and sciences.
6:30-7:00 – Denali National Park and Preserve – Discover what fun activities Denali has in store for this spring and summer seasons. A Denali park ranger will provide updates about campgrounds, summer road opening, and shoulder season schedules.
