Live Music: Fairbanks Community Band

Re-established in 1993, Fairbanks bands have existed almost continuously from the turn of the last century. The fifty piece ensemble or an intimate Jazz ensemble, ages 20-80, ranging from professional musicians, to those dusting off their instruments after a thirty-year hiatus, plays under the direction of conductor Greg Balvanz or assistant conductor Jim Fisher.
