What is Moose on the Loose? It’s a self-guided scavenger hunt encouraging shoppers to visit their local businesses during the Winter Solstice Festival on Saturday, December 17th.
Locally owned businesses place a small wooden moose, modeled after the Fairbanks First mascot, “Mortimer the Moose”, somewhere in their business. Participants from the community then visit the businesses to find Mortimer and have their passport stamped each time. New passports are available at each business and can be left at the last business that someone visits. Each stamp on your passport enters the participant into a drawing for prizes donated by our local businesses. The annual event is always a ton of fun and a great way to explore and support the many local businesses in our community.
