“Procurement Matters” Discussion

November 16, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

FREE

Around the country, procurement departments are spending government money on goods and services without actually measuring the true cost of the contract. In the report “Procurement Matters’ economic study team Civic Economics proved that the State of Arizona was actually losing $500,000 annually on a contract for office supplies worth $5M.

This 30 minute discussion (with 30 minutes of Q&A) will focus on ways procurement reflects ether economic development or economic leakage, depending on ways the contracts are awarded. In additional we will explore the City of Phoenix’s approach to procurement which has increased local purchasing by $23M over the past two years without increasing costs. The event will be held in the Mt. McKinley Bank conference room from 2-3pm.

This is a free event but you MUST RSVP. Space is limited and priority is given to those working in or managing procurement. To RSVP please call 452-2185 or email Samantha at sreynolds@investfairbanks.com.

Kimber’s speaking engagements are the result of a concerted effort among FEDC, the Downtown Assocation of Fairbanks, FNSB, and the Chamber of Commerce.
