Coordinated snow removal planned
According to Jeff Jacobson at the City of Fairbanks, downtown property owners and tenants are encouraged to shovel off their sidewalks no later than Tuesday, relocating snow, hard pack and ice to adjacent gutters. This is in preparation for an aggressive downtown snow removal beginning next Wednesday night, March 15, and provides downtown businesses the opportunity to ensure they have clean sidewalks and clean streets.
FMATS Cushman Street Bridge walkabout
On March 15, FMATS will host a Cushman Street Bridge walkabout with their policy committee and DOT engineers. Everyone is invited. Attendees are encouraged to come with ideas and questions. Do you want to know what will happen with the bridge’s flags? How big should the sidewalks be? The walkabout is an excellent way to get a “leg-up” on the construction project’s public comment period and to have your thoughts be heard!
