City Snow Removal Downtown Already? You bet there was, probably on schedule early Monday morning night. Public Works Department understands that downtown can’t function any better than anywhere else in town – probably worse – under this kind of weather. Thank you!
2025 Rental Incentive Results. Inspired by the city’s Storefront incentive, we tried a “first month’s rent” incentive. In ninety days, four contracts for 12-months or longer were signed. That’s two office sublets in Courthouse Square for Heaven Sent Homes and Wise Solutions LLC, retailer Candid Objects on ground floor at 4th/Cushman (opening soon) and a new resident upstairs. Four new tenants for $3,200, made possible by our generous sponsors and members.
Veer Toward Housing. Our advocacy for downtown comprehends snow removal all the way to development incentives – and now includes attracting development. When the many voices in Fairbanks call for housing, we observe downtown’s vacant lots, capacity for the very type of building everyone says our community needs, in the place – downtown – that people seem to think makes the most sense. As we prepare, here is this list of available incentives.
