“Electric Feathers”
Brianna Reagan
Design Statement:
My design, “Electric Feathers,” is full of juxtapositions and layers, not only in theme but in my approach as well. It is loose, yet detailed; ambiguous, but defined; a convergence of unlike thoughts and concepts into something vaguely familiar. “Electric Feathers” combines two familiar but different elements (a raven and an electronic circuit board) and blends them seamlessly into a single form balancing on the EDGE of reality. The raven motif was directly influenced by living in Alaska, while the circuit board was inspired by the Project Theme, EDGE—I instantly thought of ‘cutting EDGE’ which led to concepts of technology and thoughts of moving forward.
Author Bio:
My art has always been full of juxtapositions and layers, not only in my themes but in my approach as well. Each piece is loose, yet detailed; ambiguous, but defined; a convergence of unlike thoughts and concepts into something vaguely familiar. This has always been the way I cultivate my imagination and push it into new territory. This is how I push my art to the “edge.”
