The Fairbanks Watercolor Society hosts their 18th Annual Show this Friday from 5-8pm inside the Well Street Art Gallery.

“This is the show Fairbanksans look forward to each year,” said Nelda Benson-Nixon, the society’s co-chairman.  The exhibit features exciting displays of watercolor and acrylic paintings.

The show will debut on First Friday, April 7. The opening reception is from 5-8pm in the upper gallery at Well Street Art Company. “This year we have over 30 paintings by 18 artists, ” said Benson-Nixon. While the show is smaller than last years, the paintings are excellent with a variety of subjects, sizes, and prices.

Each year the society features a People’s Choice awards that includes 1st and 2nd Place. According to Benson-Nixon, the only complaint the event ever receives is “it is so hard to choose one!” Attendees of the event receive a ballot at the door.

Enjoy refreshments, meet the artists, and vote. Awards will be presented at 7:45 on Friday night.

The show will hang through May 2. Well Street is open Tue-Sat, Noon-6.  For more information, contact 452-6169. Be sure to RSVP.
