First Friday in February

share on:

Visit downtown on 2/7 for several First Friday shows, including:

10AM @ Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center — The MTCVC will host their monthly Native Arts and Crafts Pop-Up at Denakkanaaga! This event is the perfect opportunity to find a unique gift for Valentine’s Day — from baskets to beadwork to ulus, there’s something that someone you love would love to have.

ALL DAY @ Fairbanks Community and Dog Mushing Museum — The museum is hosting two silent auctions for First Friday (and all month-long); one is their annual Yukon Quest auction and the second is to raise funds for the Irene Sherman Statue.

5PM @ 2 Street Gallery — Fairbanks’ born Sarah Lewis showcases original woodworking at 2 Street Gallery. Lewis was born in Fairbanks and grew up in the Yukon Flats. Her pieces are created using natural woods and are both fun and functional. The show will run throughout the month of February

5:30PM @ Fairbanks Children’s Museum — The Fairbanks Children’s Museum hosts their monthly “Kids’ Night In” First Friday event. On the first Friday of every month, the museum encourages First Friday attendees to drop their kiddos off at the museum for a pizza party and activities; freeing the adults up for a date night and a First Friday walkabout. The event is $30/per child, with members receiving a 10% discount. Kids must be at least 4 years old and potty trained.
