As a child I explored the isolated beaches near our home in Chiniak on Kodiak Island. I also spent countless hours playing with geometric

erns– line art that was meticulously drawn and carefully colored.

As a teenager I made artwork on computers in virtual 3D space . In high school I took as many art classes I could fit with the pressure of preparing for college all around me. My undergraduate degree is in mechanical engineering– a rigorous program that left no time for art.

I rediscovered my love for clay just over a year ago. Today my artwork reflects the wonderful parts of life life: geometric patterns, Alaskan scenery, the ocean, and engineering. I hope the joy I see in the world is reflected in my artwork.
