The Northern Alaska Environmental Center will hold their annual auction and fundraiser, Night for the North, on October 29, 2016 at Raven Landing Community Center at 6:00pm.
All proceeds from Night for the North are used to promote conservation of the environment and sustainable resource stewardship in Interior and Arctic Alaska through education and advocacy. As a non-profit, the Northern Center depends on the generosity of the Fairbanks and Interior Alaska community to keep our wild places wild.
The featured artist for the 2016 Night for the North is Gail Priday. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a print titled, “Freezing Up”. The Northern Center is proud to partner with a talented and enthusiastic artist to add a dynamic element to this year’s Night for the North. Limited prints will be available during the outcry auction.
“Night for the North is going to be a fun, fast-paced evening! We are looking forward to gathering with our Fairbanks friends and raising funds for the only grassroots environmental center in the region”, said Northern Center Executive Director Elisabeth Dabney. “Come and enjoy first-class hors d’oeuvres, music, good company, and a chance to bid on great items!”
You will be able to bid on trips around the state, outdoor gear, made in Alaska products, a variety of services, and contribute in a meaningful way to your local environmental center, including Camp Habitat and youth activists. Music will be provided by Jake Chavez. This event is brought to you by Event Alaska and owner, Kara Nash. This event is sponsored by Camp Denali & North Face Lodge.
The Northern Center was founded in 1971 and works to protect 180 million acres of northern Alaska.
Tickets are available online at northern.org, at the Northern Center office at 830 College Road, or by calling (907) 452-5021.
