I paint in pursuit of peace…

When peace finds me,

It is time for another journey.

Kristi Sandberg, an Alaska grown artist, has been a student of art from birth. As a daughter of two local artists, she grasped an early awareness and appreciation for the beauty of her natural surroundings. While naturally talented, her development as an artist has been influenced by both formal education and guided study. She studied Art at Deakin University in Victoria, Australia, as well as the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she was awarded a Bachelors of Art in Psychology and Art in 2005. In recent years she has studied under her father, Ray Sandberg, an established local artist. Her work is diverse.  Many pieces can be accurately described as post-modern expressionist as they capture the depth of psychological insight often bordering the surreal. Alternately, she has consistently created traditional, impressionistic landscapes reflective of her Alaskan grown background. Her work is in many private collections and can currently be seen at Chartreuse (on the corner of First Avenue and Wickersham in Fairbanks, Alaska).
