the traveling piano.
8 locations. 8 photographs. 8 moments.
I use photography as a medium of self-reflection, a longing for the past. It helps me remember how it was, how far I’ve come, and how distant the past is from now. A photograph never lies. I live day by day remembering to be as transparent as my photographs. My expectation is to live, learn, and love.
I love to travel. I love pianos. And I love photography. So I decided to combine my loves into one. The nuance of colors combined with the detail and simplicity of each photograph gives me the satisfaction of a minimalist approach. A classy, Victorian, upright piano on tracks, under the pipeline, or on the tanana, while dog mushers run to and fro, lets me know Alaska is still bustling, even in the coldest of seasons.
I dare to be different. With this series, my choice of subject, location, weather, and time, puts me in the category different, borderline mad. I endeavor to use my art in this light.
