Two Street Gallery host travel writer Mollie Foster on August 4th, from 5 – 8 pm.
Foster is the author of “Hiking Alaska: A Guide to Alaska’s Greatest Hiking Adventures.” She is available to sign books and answer questions about hiking trails.
With millions of acres waiting to the guide is the perfect introduction to hiking Alaska. One hundred hikes in Alaska’s parks, refuges, forests and wilderness areas are in the guide. Also included are hikes for all ages and abilities as well as maps for each hike and full-color photos.
Foster is an Alaska-based editor, photographer, and writer. She is passionate about storytelling, specializing in outdoor lifestyle and adventure. She came to Alaska in 2009 for a photography job for a summer. One Denali summer spiraled into the next and summers spun into winters. Before she knew it, she had become a year-round Alaskan.
Foster has directed week-long educational programs and guided small-group photography courses. She has also photographed river rafting adventures. She writes and takes pictures for a range of Alaska media outlets including Alaska Magazine.
“I spend most of my time exploring Alaska by human power—biking, hiking, skiing and pack-rafting—always with a camera in hand to document experiences along the journey,” she said.
Alaska’s wild landscape has a way of capturing one’s attention in a way few other places do, she said. “Everyday I feel lucky to witness this untamed frontier, and love learning about its natural history, culture and impacts on the future.
