Weekend Workshop helps artists create resume, portfolios

The Fairbanks Arts Association will feature a special workshop on developing your professional artist portfolio on Saturday, August 19, from 2-4PM inside the Bear Gallery at Pioneer Park.

The workshop, featuring artist Elizabeth Eero Irving, will cover topics helpful to artists, including the creation of important documents in their professional artist portfolio for use in exhibits, grants, and art school applications. These documents include the artist resume, artist statement, image portfolio and image list.

Irving is a professional studio artist working and living in Fairbanks, Alaska. She earned her BFA in Documentary Photography from Cornish College and an MFA in Multi-media painting from Johnson State College. To learn more about Irving, please visit the FAA website.

Irving will also cover do’s and don’ts for said documents and will go over how to use CaFE Call for Entry, a leading online application system for managing calls for entry commonly used int he art world. 

The event is Saturday, August 19, from 2-4PM inside the Bear Gallery. The class fee is $15 for FAA members and $20 for non-members. Attendees can learn more and register online.
